Scott Lockhart's animal and plant caring journey began 6 years ago in the dark, isolating COVID-19 breakouts within Scotland, United Kingdom.

The weird and wonderful world of terrariums and invertebrates were at the top of the husbandry agenda.

After experiencing the pinch of scorpions and centipedes, it was time to revive his love for reptiles and amphibians in late 2025.

It wasn't his first venture into this community, an attempt to take stewardship of a Chinese Water Dragon, called Lizzie, was made in the early 2000s.

Other life-changing memories, of herp contact were in a family friend's garden pond seeing/holding a deluge of tadpoles and a brief step-halting encounter with a venemous Philippine Barred Coral Snake Hemibungarus calligaster.

We move to the current day and his private care of herpetiles extends to an Amazon Tree Boa Corallus Hortulana, Madagascan Cat-Eyed Snake Madagascarophis colubrinus, Pictus Gecko paroedura pictus and Mangrove Snake boiga dendrophila latifasciata.

Journalistic Echo News website and logo was created by the BA Hons Media graduate, Scott, in October 2025.

A rebrand was made in September 2026 to fully tailor to the subject matter being created.

His enthusiasm for writing, design and herpetile husbandry have catalysed his creative powers into a media career.
